Business & Pleasure

Ladies, here's a recent creation I made for Dani Colorado over at the Haven.  I love pressing this girl's hot buttons, so I always put on my devious mistress cap when I start writing for her.  This is a good representation of two things I think make current captions great:

1. The majority of the caption is dialogue.  For some reason, having two characters speak to one another seems to make the caption more real.  Or maybe that's just me.  Inner thoughts work very well too.

2. I never say what the method of change was.  I like doing this for a couple reasons.  First of all, it allows the reader to decide what it could be--an MAU, something from SRU, Medallion of Zulo, Magic Remote, etc.  Point is it let's the reader get what they want out of the caption.  Which is my second point; a lot of havenettes in the trading gallery have some specifics about what styles of transformation they like.  Letting you pick the style within the caption means it will work for you.  The only disadvantage to this form of writing I can think of is for those who like descriptive changes.

Z is For...

Well ladies, here it is.  The end of Kaity's TG alphabet.  Z is for Zebra because, well, Z is always for Zebra.  That's what we teach the kiddies anyway.  Of course, it must be mentioned that Zerophiliac would have fit well here.  If you haven't checked out that movie, I recommend it as one of the better TG-inspired independent films.

Zebra seems to cover something women can do effectively that men can't: effectively wear animal print.  I'm not saying men can't wear it, but...  well, they don't really make it, do they?

And so concludes the ABC's of TG.  If you enjoyed this little series, do not fret or cry!  More themed series are on the way...  or at least, I have several ideas and hope to have the time to sit down and write them soon.

Y is for

Y?  Because I said so!  It's a second-person Point-of-View caption!  And yes, sadly, this means next week will end our alphabet.

Promise Ring

Haven't posted a series before (I don't think), so let's try this little blast from the past.

X is for...

Ok, so...  I cheated.  Sure, could have gone with X-Chromosome, but it seemed too scientific.  Besides, isn't there USUALLY an ex-girlfriend at the heart of most of these things anyway?

A recent Role Exchanger creation.  Can you guess what was exchanged?

W is for...

Let's be honest, one of the ALL-TIME favorites of TG has to be weddings regardless of the transformation method.  Why?  It's a perfect excuse to squeeze someone into an insane pre-planned day where they more than likely have to wear a dress, heels, and professional make-up regardless of being the bride, maid of honor, or really just any girl at a wedding.

Wedding-themed captions have a special place for me, because, well, it was a wedding caption that got me started.  A contest on the Haven back in 2009 (Yes, that was 4 years ago) involving a wedding-themed caption and the SRU Reversal Rings, which you can see here:

So, even though this post is for the W of TG ABCs, I wanted to pose a question to all my viewers: How do my current captions compare to the ones I've created in the past?  Obviously the photo editing has improved; I'm more-so asking about the story-telling itself and the way the image works to assist in telling it.  Leave your comment below!

Off Limits

I've decided to mix in the old with the new by dropping some things from the Kaitlyn Vault onto this blog.  Not a foreign concept by any stretch of the imagination.  This caption comes from several years ago when I first began trading on the Haven.  I remember having difficulty adjusting to what other captioners liked, and this cap was one I felt I broke through fairly well.  Back then, I was completely against any kind of memory integration--times have changed a bit--so I struggled with ways to make it work, and this seemed to be one of the better attempts.

Noir Story

A cap I made for Gwendolyn over on the Haven quite recently that I had a lot of fun with developing.  Gwendolyn has a thing for smoking girls, and by that I mean both literally and figuratively.  I had wanted to incorporate this in such a way that would make sense, but not blatantly come out and say "she's now developed a craving for cigarettes."  I've tried this tact before with some success--the idea that I'll let the action in the picture say that much for me with having to reiterate.

I also played around with some of the effects my editor has to create a comic-book appearance.  Of course, true Noir form would probably be in black & white or sepia, but I really like the way the colors turned out when put through the filter, and feel it allows this caption to pop a bit more.

What We're Made Of

A little present I made for Caitlyn-Masked and Dee for the Link Exchange.  Specifically considering Caitlyn said I was the 'Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice' of captions.  You ladies rock my socks.

V is for...

Had I timed things right, I would have posted this one on the fifth of November...

Go on Over

Here's one hot off the presses I created for Havenette dani.  I like the way the subtleties play into the caption.  This is also a good example of having the character worry about the situation rather than what caused the transformation in the first place.
